Every family seems to have good intentions when it comes to chores.

You print a colorful chore chart, hang it on the fridge, explain how it works… and within a week, everyone has stopped looking at it.

At least that was our experience.

The problem wasn’t that the kids didn’t want to help. It was that the system never quite fit our family. Some chores only happened once a week, others depended on the weather, and some only mattered if we had people coming over. Before long, I was spending more time reminding everyone to check the chore chart than they were actually doing the chores.

I wanted something that felt more flexible.

So I built a homemade chore app with Playful.
